Il Buco recently received the Wine Spectator "Award of Excellence" in 2000 & 2001 for having "one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world." Designed by sommelier Roberto Paris.

 

         
 

 

Have a seat at il Buco's bar and choose from fourteen wines by the glass, or order a bottle from our extensive international wine list. With a focus on Italy, including an extensive selection of Umbrian wines, our list strongly represents Spain, France, Germany and the U.S. as well as other countries.

Our philosophy is to seek out wines from smaller, lesser known producers, introducing our customers to a variety of wines they might not otherwise have the opportunity to sample. In this vein, and in accordance with our deep association with Umbria, we take pride in carrying some of the best Sagrantino di Montefalco produced. In addition, we continue to provide an extensive offering of world class wines in their various vintages from some of the most renowned wineries.

The list includes an array of sparkling wines, Champagnes, Proseccos and Cavas, as well as an extensive selection of aperitivo and dessert wines: rare vintage Amontillados and Olorosos, Ports, Madeiras and twelve dessert wines by the glass. David Rosengarten of Gourmet Magazine suggests: "One of the first things you might try at il Buco, with a glass of Manzanilla, is a bowl of very Andalusian-tasting marinated olives..."

We also carry about twenty different grappas produced from various grapes and regions of Italy, and an unusual selection of digestifs and Amaris including some exquisite Sardinian examples rarely available in the States. And of course a full bar with top shelf liquors and freshly squeezed citrus juices.
